Making comments - weeks 3 to 8
A reminder that, as well making your 2 posts each week, you now have to leave 1 comment on another person's blog each week. You have to choose a different person each week. The comment needs to be at least 75 words so you will need to read and understand what the person is saying. "Yes, I agree" or "Good point!!!" won't be enough.

Course outline
Students will create an online blog page. Students can write opinions about current news items, describe events in their life, tell about interests or hobbies, or write about any other topic that they wish to write about. The blog can include photos, video and links to other internet sites.
Week 1: Introduction - Thursday 12 May, 2.00 pm, room 303
There will be a demonstration of how to create a blog using the Google site Blogspot. Students can use any other free site that they prefer but this is recommended as an easy and free site.
Weeks 2 to 7: Updating personal blog
Students need to add at least two entries to their blog each week. The two entries must be made on two different days. Students are encouraged to be creative and can add photos, video and links to their blog.
The deadline for each week is 2:00 pm on Thursday. The blogs will be looked at and marked at this time each week.
Week 3 to 8: Commenting on other people’s blogs
Each week students must visit the blog of one other portfolio student and leave a comment on their blog. The comments should be relevant and at least 75 words. You cannot use the same blog twice so you must visit a different student’s blog every week. Links to all the blogs will be available in week 2.
The deadline for each week is 2:00 pm on Thursday. The comments will be looked at and marked at this time each week.
Week 8: End of portfolio review - Thursday 30 June, 2.00 pm, room 303
